Server-side complete verification of signed PDF documents

You can verify any signed PDF document in this demo. The demo Verification Server has a list of Certificate Authorities (CAs) trusted to issue certificates to end-users as listed here. Only if your document is signed using a credential from one of these CAs it will be shown as trusted. The Verification Server can support an unlimited number of CAs each with their own validation policy.

The following diagram shows that the certificate used to sign the document is currently revoked. So if the document is verified today it will not be trusted.

However as document was signed before revocation, if the document is verified on 1st January 2008, it will show the signature is trusted. This demonstrates the improtance of historical verification for long-term documents:

Notes
	Server-side verification uses a very flexible Signing API to request how the server should verify the signature and what evidence information should be returned back (e.g. CRL/OCSP revocation information, timestamps, etc.).
	All verification service responses are signed by the Verification Server to ensure that clients can trust that these are genuine un-tampered messages from a trusted authority.
	The Verification Server not only ensures that the document has not been changed since signing and that the signer’s credentials are valid (not expired, not revoked and issued by a trusted CA) but can also report on the quality level of the signature and the associated certificate quality level. 	For privacy concerns it is not necessary to send the fully signed document to the Verification Server, instead an organisation can host a Gateway which strips the documents contents and only sends the signature details to the Verification Server for verification. See ADSS Gateway for further details.
	In case you are uploading your own file, in this demo we restrict the file size to 500KB and documents having 50 pages or less.
